Wolfchase Honda is proud to serve the community of Jackson, Tennessee. Jackson is often overlooked for its bigger neighbor, Memphis, but, while we’ve got nothing against Memphis, we think you’d be really missing out if you skipped over Jackson entirely.
Jackson was founded in 1821 by settlers coming up from the south and heading out east. First named “Alexandria,” the name was changed in 1822 to “Jackson” in honor of the soon-to-be President of the United States, Andrew Jackson, then just a military hero of the War of 1812. Jackson was tumultuous from the time of its founding through the violent uproar of the Civil War, but we’re pleased to say things have mellowed out around here quite a bit since then.
Today, Jackson is the seventh-largest city in the state of Tennessee. Thanks to our proximity to Memphis, we get all the perks of a big city with all the charm of a small one. Inclusive events from bike races to seasonal festivals keep up the community spirit, while our dedication to green space and the great outdoors provides ample opportunities for recreation and adventure. Downtown Jackson is a lively place all hours of the day, with a diverse spread of restaurants, shops, and nightlife to keep every sort of person entertained and happy.
A few places in Jackson we’re particularly fond of include Casey Jones Village, known as “the best whistle-stop between Memphis and Nashville” (we can confirm this is the cutest railroad museum you’ll ever come to); Cypress Grove Nature Park, a serene spot for a stroll in the woods; and the Ballpark at Jackson for a family-fun Jackson Generals minor league baseball game.
Whether you’re one for spending the afternoon at the ballpark or getting your hands dirty in the woods, there’s something for you in Jackson. Wolfchase Honda is pleased to help the fine people of Jackson enjoy their city in a trusty Honda vehicle.
